April 27, 2023Ingram valley – Linhope - Ravenhill Circular.
Another great walk in the Northumberland National Park, starting from Ingram heading over the north fells, with great views. Then dropping back into Ingram Valley at Hartside Farm, before heading over the southern fells, and ending up at Ingram once again. Ensure you have you map and compass with you.

Turn by Turn Directions
Ingram to Hartside Farm over the Norther fells:
We leave the car park just east of Ingram and head back over the bridge to pick up a farm road which takes north past the farm on our right where shortly we see a public footpath sight on our left for Reveley Hill. We head over the hill on a gentle climb up onto the fells, remember to take in some of the views both ahead and behind us. As we head over the stile we see a discussed farm building, which we pass on our right before heading over the fells.
The paths over the fells are not well defined as we head towards Dods Farm our eventual destination being Cunyan Crags. Once we pick up Cunyan Crags on our right we skirt around in a westerly direction and start to head down the fells towards Hartside Farm in a general South Easterly direction.
Hartside Farm to Ingram over the Southern fells:
Once we reach Hartside Farm we pick up the signed public path heading south towards xxxxxxx, as we cross the bridge we pick up the path where we have a couple of options of either climbing up the fells or following the southern river back, we chose the second and were rewarded with some great views along the River Breamish back. After around a mile we come to a wide track heading up the fell side towards a wooded area, where we follow the side of the woods on our left before coming to a path from xxxx and a gate with pathway signs on our left. We take this path through the wooded area being careful as many trees have been felled due to high winds. We follow a well-defined path down to Breamish Brook heading over the wooden bridge head of us, through the gate and then climb once again up onto the fells, where we are rewarded with some magnificent views and you will be able to pick up Cunyan Crag, which we walked around over Hartside Hill.
We continue along the fells in a North Easterly direction, along some well-defined path and come to the views up the valley with Ingram ahead of us, where we walk down off the fells after a very satisfying walk on the fells.
Enjoy the walk; I do not think you will be disappointed J
