Turn by Turn Directions

After our journey along the upper reaches of the Coquet River in the glorious valley, we park up (see start point link below).  Once kitted up we head north up the single-track road next to Rowhope Burn (see Video at 1:20).  This path takes us past two farms, at the second (see Video at 2:20) we head over the footbridge and start our gentle climb on the fells.  We start to see some of the magnificent views, which will follow us on the whole walk.  To the east, we have Ward Law with The Cheviot and Hedgehope Hill.

Approaching the trig point at Windy Gyle, we are exposed to some truly magnificent views (see Video at 4:25) of Scotland in the north and across Northumberland.  It is worth taking a break to take in these views.

Leaving Windy Gyle summit we head west, where the views continue (see Video at 6:00).  Our route now turns south, as we pick up The Street and pass Black Braes on our way to Swineside Law (see Video at 9:15).

Although we still have a couple of miles to go we start our gentle descent.  As we start our final descent it is worth taking a final look back up the valley (see Video at 10:20), you will not be disappointed.
