How did they perform in the field?
After the boots were cleaned and treated, see video for application, the boots and shoes were taken out on many walks for a thorough field trail. The conditions consisted of fell, mountain, scree and trail walking. The conditions were varied, from stream and brook crossings, long thick wet grass and undergrowth as well as rain and arid conditions.
The overall boot and shoe performance, following the treatment, went well:
The Highlights:
- The boots repelled water from the boot/shoe.
- The products did not detriment the material characteristics.
- It appeared that the treated boots repelled mud etc. after post-treatment walks.
- By treating the boots/shoes, it is easier to clean the boots/shoes when the product is applied in future applications.
