How did they perform in the field?

The shoes were worn on the trail from day one and did not need to be worn in.  The shoe was worn on several walks from 6 to 15 miles, for a total of around 40 miles.  This was on varying terrain from fells, trails, climbs and across open paths.  Weather conditions were from dry to rain

The overall shoe performance well in the field, below is the key review feedback:

The Highlights:

  • The overall performance of the shoe was good.
  • The Quicklace® system worked well and made adjustments mid-hike easy. This was found to be very useful.
  • The lacing system pulled the foot into the shoe well, and the shoe was found to be very stable.
  • The Contragrip® sole was good in all conditions and terrain. There was little to no feedback in the foot when walking on stones and uneven ground.
  • On longer day walks, there was no fatigue felt from the shoe.
  • The standard innersole worked well in the field

Points to be aware of:

  • When using the lace pocket system, it can be fiddly to use.
